Hi John!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for supporting Kizuna, it really means a lot to me that you appreciate the effort that went into making the game, especially the fact that it was created entirely without AI. I hope that care and dedication shine through in every aspect of the game, particularly in the level design. ^^
Words like yours make all the time and effort I've put into developing Kizuna over the past year feel absolutely worthwhile. It's incredibly rewarding to know that the work and care that went into making it are appreciated.
As for adding an extra life, I'll certainly give it some thought, however, there are already two food items in the game that fully restore your health. Once you get familiar with the routes and learn how to progress, it's really just a matter of knowing when to use them. Defeating a boss also restores your health completely.
I've tried to make the game as fair as possible. I know it can feel a little tough at first, but once you learn the ropes and get to know what lies ahead, those healing opportunities should be enough to help you through. And of course, Part 2 gives you a few more chances to recover your health :)
Thanks again for playing Kizuna and taking the time to share your thoughts, John. It really means a lot to me. ٩(˘◡˘)۶
Thank you so much for taking the time to write an article about Kizuna! I really appreciate the support and the time you've dedicated to covering my game. It means a lot ^^
Just a small correction, if you don't mind: my name is Xeif, not Keif. 😊
Thanks again for the lovely article and for helping spread the word about Kizuna!
Hello! The default keys are O for left, P for right, Q to jump, A to drop Hana, Spacebar to attack, and S to perform Seppuku (Harakiri).
There is no graphics mode. This isn't an Amstrad CPC game; all the graphics are my own hand-crafted pixel art.
In any case, you can redefine the keys and choose whichever controls you prefer.
Thanks for taking the time to comment! Hope you have fun playing! ^^
