Hello! I’ve really enjoyed seeing your work evolve over time. I have a question for you. I’m a pixel artist, and I’m currently facing a bit of a challenge—I was hoping to get some advice from a fellow artist. Here’s the situation: It’s been nearly a year since I last created a character or an asset pack to sell online. It’s not an issue with my actual drawing skills—I’ve attached an image that shows some of my work. The problem is that I get stuck: I’ll design a character, but then I pause to wonder if it fits with my other asset packs. I start questioning things: Will it actually sell? How will it turn out? Should I build an entire pack around it, or not? I end up abandoning that character and moving on to a new idea—to the point where my portfolio is now just full of these unfinished projects. I’d love to hear your advice!

I need some help. Hi, I’m a pixel artist working on a pack—actually, a set of three separate packs. The first pack consists of 20 characters: 10 female and 10 male. Each character has a unique look while still adhering to a consistent general school uniform style. They also come with a “companion” or “summon”—similar to a JoJo Stand or a Persona from the Persona game series. The other packs will feature enemies, side characters, and map assets. What I’d like to know is: How can I make my pack successful? I’m worried that the pack won’t be compatible or easy to integrate with other assets on marketplaces like itch.io, because I compared my character style to others and found nothing quite like it—not even the concept itself. I’m looking for advice from artists with more experience than me and from people who have successfully sold a lot of assets on these platforms. Thanks!
