itch.io

thanks! happy to hear you enjoyed it! (or atleast, that it made you think :P)

“i’ve got all the time in the world” is really funny. like, wow. how didnt i think of that,,,

you shouldve been able to change the size of the brush with scroll wheel, but, the game only lasts 4 minutes, so its not like theres time to figure that out ahaha

“for that radio show announcer, being there for others was a kind of ‘sidequest’ too” yesss, it makes me very happy that someone got the idea i was trying to get accross with the dialogue to the extent that they could put it elegantly into words!!!

also i think if you enable the fullscreen button on the itch page then youll be able to make the game bigger in the web player

fun and short game!

you definitely captured the feeling of not knowing whose present is whose ahaha

very impressive to make 2 sub-games! thats a lot more work, and both were executed pretty well!

also ahaha very funny interpretation of the theme, where the game itself is your side quest

very delightful visuals, with all the programs scrungled.

the game does last long enough that i got a bit tired of clicking, if the timer went quicker itd probably feel a bit more frantic, good game regardless though!

very creative and fun!! the barber shop ending is incredible

fun game! having the player upgrade when they die is a genius way to do balancing,,

shooting costing time is also an elegant way to discourage spamming!

oh also writing dialogue wise, we have an interesting method

the artist, who “isnt that good at writing” writes out the dialogue for each conversation in one go (after we discuss a little of like “this person needs to say x, that person knows y about the world”)

this means we cover the key bits, but we also get extra flavour stuff and tone of voice that just sort of happens as a natural result of writing the dialogue one line at a time in a stream of consciousness, as if the conversation is happening

after/concurrently, i (the programmer), who “isnt that good at writing” read over everything to make sure theres no mistakes etc, but also to reword some things so they land better, since often on the first pass some ideas wont be communicated very clearly

this somehow means we end up with dialogue that is actually decent

this is beautiful!! we were considering making a sort of “vignette” based game, this executes that brilliantly!

(reading another comment): clair de lune wouldve worked so well on me,,

fun controls! good difficulty!

the timers for the levels all felt long enough that they often didnt really matter (as in, i either died to a hazard, or the timer still had 10 seconds left after beating the level). adding eg a rank based on speed could add replayability and give a sense of how good youre doing without making the game any harder. … but like, given that its for a jam etc, that isnt massively important

very nice presentation! the controls were a little awkward on trackpad, but generally fine. figuring out the pathfinding mechanics over the game was very satisfying!

breaking the box with the cursor was a funny reveal the first time it happened, but got a little annoying when it happened accidentally

thanks a lot!!

thanks! the rotating wasnt looking that good for a while during the jam, but then i added the grass around the flower and it suddenly all came together (tbf i, the programmer, always thought it would end up working, but the artist had doubts lol)

thanks for playing (and for “solving gaming” i guess :P), happy you enjoyed! fun vod!!

very interesting mechanic! the later levels were a bit too complicated for me to logic through, but i can see how they would work

really cool game! from the way the opening was framed i was expecting one of those “dig deeper, get more ores, upgrade, repeat” games, which i guess this is, but its more of a puzzle game! incredibly good mix of genres, and perfectly executed on top of that!

fun! good variety in challenges considering the limited time

very creative with how the abilities interact and combine

after some replaying, i got S/A on the first 3 levels, and B/C on the next 2 (i probably could get all the gems quite easily but i was mostly focused on the time)

i was also playing with trackpad so couldnt get too far, but the bit i could play was fun! it seems like if i could actually get further the upgrades would start stacking in fun ways

really fun controls and beautiful art!

juanchiflo17’s outer wilds ship comparison is apt, and yeah a few levels were relatively easy to solve by holding wasd, but it was a joy to play regardless

very funny premise, i like how it doesnt make sense lol

i was playing the windows version and also got the bug. resizing the window did seem to help, but only sometimes

very cool visuals and lots of polish! after a while i ended up just playing cards in order and hoping the last card has an upgrade that lets you play something big on it. maybe i just didnt get enough strong upgrades

(also it seems the “orange juice” upgrade doesnt have a description, which is funny)

very fun and rewarding pathfinding puzzles! it takes a good amount of time to figure out how to solve them. the crystal one felt like itd be really close timing wise, but then on my proper attempt i ended up with like 10 seconds to spare

i somehow did the third one “first try” (after exploring the map once first), i think because i just stumbled into the optimal path immediately lol.

some of the controls did feel a little fiddly (it took me a while to figure out how to use the bombs, since they dont work if youre right next to the wall, which makes sense given the implementation, but is unusual)

all the scenes were funny! good game! - Netta

whoah! this game is so good! everything about it is good!! even the name is incredible!!!!

fun game!

despite in theory watching the streams as you made it i had barely any idea what cells were in the game, so the sudden reveals of cool cells worked really well ahaha

the artstyle and sounds are really nice

we all love the time cube
