hey there - thanks for your question! i'm not familiar with DeepL specifically, but if it uses genAI / LLMs for translation then i'd ask that you please not use it as part of your submission.
non-english games are very welcome (in fact I see the jam has already received a few submissions in other languages) so please do consider submitting a japanese game if you'd like to participate! <3
also, another thing you could do is make a post on the bitsy forum (/__site/ledoux.itch.io/bitsy/community) to see if anyone would be willing to help you translate the game into english - i know there are some japanese-english translators in the community, so maybe someone would be up for collaborating!
hi! thanks for the question - i actually didn't include the root-level makefile for moonbeamkit, because you're supposed to copy it in from the gba-bootstrap toolchain: https://codeberg.org/SkyLyrac/gba-bootstrap
give that a try and let me know if it works!
thanks for the great suggestions folks!

thanks for playing Peter and for the kind words about the game - I’m really glad you enjoyed it! <3 (and good point about the benches too)
as for as how I found time to make it - I’m honestly not sure :P just found bits and pieces of free time and slowly picked away at it over the course of about 2 years
I wrote a bit about the process on my blog if you’re interested: https://www.adamledoux.net/blog/posts/2023-05-31-Notes-On-With-The-Last-Moonbeam.html
