Ha, fair point — my bad! Thanks for reading the page that carefully before even playing. That's rarer than a 100% on the final line.

If you do give it a try sometime, I'd genuinely love to hear your score. Fair warning, though: the final line is waiting for you — kanji table or not.

Great question — and yes, that exact problem actually bit us during testing!

Short answer: yes. Before scoring, both what the recognizer heard and the target answers go through the same normalization:

• Katakana is converted to hiragana, and spaces/punctuation are stripped

• A small built-in kanji-to-kana table converts the kanji forms for the words used in this game. For TSU specifically, 津 and 都 are read as つ

It's not a general-purpose kanji converter — the game is a single HTML file with only 10 levels, so a targeted word list is enough. And it keeps the scoring honest: saying す still scores 0% on TSU.

Before we added the table, a native Japanese speaker scored 67% on the final line purely because the recognizer answered in kanji. Now those forms score 100%, while real mispronunciations still drop properly.

Thanks for playing — and for the sharpest question we've had so far!

thank you for playing!!

I've added an auto-aim button (🎯) to address your request for separate flight controls and separate control of the firing direction.

That's literally the best compliment for a dev. 😭

I made this to let you feel how expressions intensify — not linearly, but with subtle thresholds (like tears suddenly spilling over).

The tear physics, the shake frequencies per emotion, the easing curves... all tuned to feel "alive."

If you got lost in it for hours, then it worked. 🙏
