What’s the license? CC0? If so, I can put them in my collection of high-quality, low-fidelity 3D game assets.

What’s the license? If it’s CC0/public domain, I can add it to my collection of free, low-poly, high-quality 3D assets.

I mean, I upscaled them in GIMP by 2X (it also helps to tile them first so they scale up seamlessly), and then I apply some HSV noise to put some texture back in, and then I try to tighten up edges and make things look less like they’re scaled up.

Your call.

The diagonal dithering gives it sort of a denim texture.

You could create an account at gitlab and push it there.

I don’t see any mention in the description, though.

I would just add it to the description, but you could do that, too.

Awesome! You should probably add that to the description. If you do, I’ll feature them in my collection of high-quality, lo-fi public domain assets.

These are great. What is the license? CC0?

Nice! Looks great!

Like I said, even if it was provided for free, the license could make it illegal to use. Also where did I ever once claim, or even imply I was entitled to it? It seems as though you’re purposefully misunderstanding my point.

Also I asked you a question, which you have not answered: What am I doing that’s mean?

He is, but with improper licensing, it could not be legal to use, making that fact he’s providing it free of charge pointless, hence my point this whole thread.

What do you mean “nicer”? What am I doing that’s mean? Pointing out the potential legal issues he may be creating in using a crayon license?

Where did it go?

What is the license? The description lists what you can do with it, but no actual license is provided.

Is it fair to assume these assets are CC0, just behind a paywall, like some of Quaternius’ assets?

This is more like PS2 in terms of fidelity than PS1. Still very nice work, though!

Again, you should be careful with the wording of custom clauses/licenses as they could render your work legally unusable, a point which you failed to address in this reply.

You should put the license in the description then, so people can know what the license is BEFORE they download it.

Also why would it be marked CC0 if the license is different? That would cause confusion, and you should also be careful with the wording for custom clauses/licenses, as they could render your work legally unusable.

If you love it so much, you could always show your love by dropping in a little donation ;)

That doesn’t help at all, it’s not clear what “commercial free” refers to specifically, and without a license, there’s no way to know what the limitations to use are.

Do you mean it’s public domain? If so, I highly recommend also putting it under CC0 since there are some jurisdictions in which public domain is not recognized, such as Germany.

That doesn’t answer my question. I asked you what the license is, and that is not a license. I already saw you said that in the description, and I would not have asked what the license was if that answered that question.

What’s the license? CC0?

What’s the license? CC0?

Well, I guess that’s as much confirmation that they’re CC0 as any.

Could you put that in the description so other people can see that?

What’s the license? CC0? If so, I’ll add these to my collection of high-quality, lo-fi CC0 assets.

Great work! Added to my collection of high-quality, lo-fi CC0 assets!

Also great seeing more people realizing they can release paid assets as CC0 :)

Is that a yes?

Not really.

Just so you’re aware, “CC-NR” isn’t an actual Creative Commons license, as you can’t create one by prefixing “CC-” to custom terms. If someone doing serious commercial work gets into a dispute over this, your license may not hold up. You’d be better off using an established license like CC-BY-NC-ND which covers most of what you’re trying to restrict here.

I did leave them alone… Two months ago.

And the fact that it’s super-clean/nice doesn’t resolve the fact that they didn’t provide a license, which is what I was asking for. Why is it wrong for me to ask for an actual license in order to cover my bases?

Also if it is CC0, then I am free to use/modify/redistribute/etc. this asset however I wish with absolutely zero restriction, effectively a public-domain equivalent license. However, the author clearly stated there are restrictions on how the asset may be used, which makes it clear they are NOT providing it under CC0 licensing.

Thanks for demonstrating why making the license an asset is provided under explicit is so important, however.

Awesome! Added to my list of CC0 3D game assets!

What’s the license? CC0?

It’d be great if these were CC0, but unfortunately, the restrictions prohibit that.

He’ll yeha! Gonna add it to my collection of CC0/Public domain low-poly, hi-quality assets.

What’s the license? CC0?

Awesome! I highly recommend you put that in the description so people will know right away.

Please keep me posted, and show me what you make!

That’s still not a license…

That’s not a license, and “free for commercial use” is pretty open ended. Settling on a concrete, existing license would allow people to know the limits of how they can use it.
