❌ Don’t enter with both Unreal Engine and UEFN. Pick one.
❌ Don’t submit unpackaged Unreal Engine projects.
❌ No content that breaks the Official Rules, including other people’s IP and inappropriate content.

This is a summary. Read the full Official Rules before you enter.

The Official Rules are available in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), and Turkish.

Unreal Engine teams

You submit on itch.io.

1) Package your game for Windows (development build). It must be playable on Windows 10 or 11, macOS, Android, or iOS.
2) Name your .zip TeamName_GameName and keep it under 1 GB. For bigger builds, use butler or Blendo Itch Uploader.
3) Upload it to your own itch.io account, then submit to this jam.

Include:

  • Team name, plus each member’s name and the email address linked to their Epic Games account
  • Game name
  • Gameplay video link (30–60 seconds)
  • Dev log link (optional, but required for the Glass Box modifier)

UEFN teams

You submit on itch.io. with a private version code. That's a fixed snapshot of your island that can't be changed after you create it. Follow the Fortnite Developer Rules.

1) Your private version code must be the final, playable build you want judged, and you must create it before the deadline.
2) Live island codes and playtest codes aren't accepted, because they can be changed after the jam ends.

Include:

  • Team name, plus each member’s name and the email address linked to their Epic Games account
  • Island name and private version code
  • Gameplay video link (30–60 seconds)
  • Dev log link (optional, but required for Glass Box modifier)

Leave time to submit

Late submissions will be disqualified. Upload your build or provide your private version code before November 15, 5:59 PM PST / 8:59 PM EST.

Tips

  • Set up your agents before November 12. Getting MCP working on day one costs build time.
  • Scope small, then polish. A finished, fun game beats an ambitious broken one.
  • Package or publish early. Do a test build on day two so the last day isn’t a surprise.
  • Keep notes as you go. It makes your dev log easier to write for the Glass Box modifier category.
  • Make your video count. Show gameplay in the first five seconds.

Give it a shot anyway. Four days with agents on your side is a great way to try something you’d never have time for otherwise. Even if you don’t finish, you’ll learn a lot.

Find teammates or ask questions on the Unreal Engine Forums and UEFN Discord.

Do I have to use AI?
No.

Can I start before November 12?
You can set up your tools, agents, and MCP ahead of time, but don't start building your game until November 12. Declare any prompts, scripts, or assets you made before the jam.

Can my team enter with both Unreal Engine and UEFN?
No. Each team picks one and follows that submission process.

Do I need to come to San Francisco?
No. Online and in-person entries are judged the same way.

Can I keep working on my game after the jam?
Yes. Keep the jam version as your submitted build. Standout Unreal Engine and UEFN entries can also receive Development Continuation Grants of up to $50,000 to keep developing their game.

Who owns my game?
You do. See the Official Rules.
