Bru & Boegie: Episode 2 - Get da SUGAR!
Bru & Boegie: Episode 2 - Get da SUGAR!
What if the conspiracies weren't conspiracies?
You are Bru: a bald dude in underpants. All you wanted was milk for your coffee but you ended up incarcerated for a crime you absolutely, unequivocally did commit. Your coffee quest lands you at the centre of a sinister alien conspiracy, where you're the only thing standing in the way between sugar-stealing lizard aliens and their world domination.
Bru & Boegie: Episode 2 β Get Da Sugar is a weird, fully-animated and fully-voiced 2D point & click adventure comedy.

In this demo: Play through Act 1 which kicks off Bru's ridiculous quest for sugar for his coffee.
While the embedded WebGL game works well, I recommend downloading a standalone build for your OS for the best full-screen experience.
Steamers: Please stream the game! ππ While the music is available as an OST on streaming services, I've made sure that none of the music is opted in for video monetisation so you shouldn't have any copyright trouble by including the game's music tracks in your recordings.

- Left-click: Interact
- (Optional) Right-click: Examine
- Use items in your inventory on stuff in the world
- Sometimes you can combine 2 items with each other

Please wishlist the full game on Steam!
If the game gets about 7k Steam wishlists I can more-or-less justify going all-in to complete the rest of it. Acts 2 - 6 (the rest of the game) are mostly outlined, most puzzles are mapped out, and a lot of new area background are in various stages of completion (you can walk around in many of them in the demo if you discover a little secret π).
Episode 2 is a big step up in scale from Episode 1, finishing this demo took almost a year of dedicated solo development! π I'd like to keep the standard high, and I imagine the rest of the game would take about another year and a half of full-time work development.

Thank you for spending time in Bru & Boegie's world. β€οΈπ

OMG I WAS RIGHT, now i gotta get the sugar, like i literally got spoiled the 2nd chapter after a funny coment i made.

LOLOL! Props. I remember your comment - I was originally thinking of a trilogy of eps, and I think your comment might have nudged me in a particular direction. You were, in fact, correct.
i love how the world works even tho most things are jokes, like the richest man lives in the trash, Bru has a very filosophical way of talking but is still kinda dumb as he technically had the card of the richest man and didnt use it to buy the milk, but that might just be because of his kinda rigid morals or hijinks and adventures making him have the experience to know its never that easy to end the adventure and more shennanigans are to come.
this is INCREDIBLE! So well done! I've been searching and playing countless games looking for more point & click adventures that are funny and charming rather than creepy and depressing (which I appreciate those too..but still). Thanks so much! I've purchased on STEAM and wishlisted part 2 and hope for bunches more and loads of success for you.
Ah man. Thanks Jazzy. Makes a crusty olβ dude happy.
LOVE the visuals for these!

This is absolutely amazing. Big congrats!
Hey thanks Kibbitz! ππ
Cool game! This reminds me of "The secret of monkey island", is there any inspiration or am I just totally wrong?
Thanks Feusten - oh yes, I'm super inspired by Lucasarts' 90s point & click adventure games.
Honestly my type of game. Had a great time in a boring lesson at university xD
Thx alot, keep up the good work
Eyy yoo, thank you for the kind words! Glad it made your uni lecture more point & clicky! π

I'd like to imagine that Goldfish exists in this universe.
Longtime fan of the art!
YOSSS! Ha, might make an appearance at some point πππΉπ΅
This art is awesome! And the black outlined star around the start button is genius :' 0
Ha, thanks Sandra ππ
Hi there! I'm an indie dev just starting out. Your game is creative and inspiring. I hope I can create something this awesome someday. My debut game still has rough edges, but Iβve put all my effort into it. Iβd love to learn and exchange ideas with you.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I also only fairly recently started out with indie dev! It's defs possible, just keep going - make small things and/or something that makes your heart sing, and then keep making small things, and sometimes bigger things, you can doo eet! ππͺ
thanks
Hey! Thank you for commenting on my game a while back. I still found the experience of the first game charming, and was glad to see you had released another in the same series.
I'm so glad you implemented my suggestion into the Interaction click while also making it in-universe!!! I particularly enjoy the commentary on the food slot and the jail's bar cells.
Boegie is a mastermind, to be able to fit a battery powered angle grinder in the form of a cake frosting! Even funnier that Bru bites into it, even after I've used the right-click on it first and Bru immediately notices the metal disk (when I thought it was just a ruined cake that had been destroyed in transit).
I absolutely loved the demo ending sequence. It's interactive enough but not difficult, and gives the player time to soak in that point of the adventure as it had transpired. That was a lot more wacky than I expected!
Bugs & suggestions (no worries, I am also putting this in the feedback form!):
I got stuck on the cutscene pressing button below the jail cell, after Nervie Bird does its SQWAUK Pressing ESC did not bring up the menu. It's probably because I had Cutscene Cursor to Off and Pause Dialog to On. I retried it on default options and it went fine, so I think it's the Pause Dialog option. The autosave did not remember stickers or picking up the cake though so I assume it only autosaves on significant intervals.
The vignette effect that appears in some scenes look weird aganist the game's vibrant artstyle.
it's cool there's more stickers, but there should also be an option to make the process quicker (currently it stops the flow state of playing the game). maybe just a little sound, text saying X / 26 stickers as an overlay while letting the player keep clicking things. or maybe clicking to skip the screen where it shows you which sticker has been awarded.
The narrator guy (the one that appears with different text) does a great performance, but he is way louder than everyone else, and personally takes me out of the dialogue. I would even go out as to say the "Rimshot"s are like a laugh track and forces a reaction out of the player, taking out immersion instead of adding to the experience. That's my opinion though.
It would be nice to be able to click the vinyl toys / stickers to take a closer look at them individually (like zooming in a png, similiar to the perspective of the gallery in Extras). Not as important, but would help make the collectibles feel more "real" and interactable.
Thank you for making what you believe in yourself, and wish you all the best in your further endeavours!
Thanks so much for this incredible feedback, Reina! WOW! I appreciate the bug reports as well as your suggestions - I think they're all fire and hope to implement what I can, thank you! π
Thank you, I discovered why the bug was happening with SQUAWK and 'Pause Dialogue' - exactly as you suggest, it was 'Pause Dialogue' and I had disabled input for that scene otherwise the player might save in that location and that'd be a problem. Has been fixed, ta.
took me awhile to beat but its cool I beat it :)
Thanks for playing!!
been patiently waiting for a second since the first episode dropped :) great job!
Thanks Aurbri! π
At least as charming and funny as the first part but way more ambitious! I mean the demo alone is about as long as the whole first part. Looks way more polished as well - even the menu screen is dope as hell! Looking forward to the full version :D
Thanks so much! Yes - first part is a huge chunk π Thanks for the kind words! π
Super Kiff Bru, Keep on keepinβ on!
ag man lekka thank you meneer ππ
great game, thank you!
Thank you for playing! ππ
wowoowwow been so excited for more mikdog bru and boegie!!! cannot wait for the full release
eyy yoo LTTG - thanks so much! π
Was decently surprised to see my playthrough lasted 3.8826389274e+152 years when it felt more like 9 nanoseconds. I stated in my last comment that time flies by when you're having fun, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT fun.
Thank you! What a great comment to have received! π So glad you enjoyed it ππβ¨
fun
hey, thanks so much for this queenfaith! ππ
