Situation Normal — Demo

Infiltrate. Destroy the boss. Get the hell out.

Situation Normal is a fast, chaotic 2.5D action platformer where you set the pace.

You're a special agent sent to infiltrate an underground facility, sabotage it, and get your ass out when all hell breaks loose.

Move carefully and situations escalate gradually. Rush forward and everything starts happening at once.

Fight your way through collapsing factory halls, armed enemies, and machinery that seems determined to kill you.

What to expect:

  • Player-paced chaos — Take your time or rush in and deal with the consequences.
  • Movement meets combat — Dash using shotgun recoil, wall-jump, and shoot your way through.
  • Destructible environments — Floors collapse, machinery breaks, and things go spectacularly wrong.
  • Tough but fair challenges — Observe, react, and find your own rhythm.
  • No handholding — No lengthy cutscenes, no skill trees, no unnecessary distractions. Just you, your weapons, and a facility falling apart.

The Demo

Get a taste of the first world, an aging industrial facility where pretty much everything is trying to kill you.

And remember: Everything falls apart. You keep your cool.

hi

Hi there

(1 edit)

Pressing 'Escape' did nothing for me, and I had to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to exit the game - possibly related to the fact that I'm using a generic Bluetooth remote for my VR headset. Related to that, I apparently can't dash since my remote only has 4 action buttons (not L1, L2, R1, R2), so I can't make it past the demo unless maybe I want to use a combination of the remote and my keyboard. Looks fun though!

Ah that’s a pity. Yes, it needs either keyboard or a game controller, and game controller is better than keyboard for me. I tested with nintendo switch, playstation, an old no name dpad, and xbox controller. and yes without a dash you won’t make it past the second room.

I wonder if you can put something together with the key map settings.

Hi, im not able to connect an xbox controller to it either and when i try change the controls in settings i am unable to access the save button to confirm changes of controls as the only options that get highlighted are reset or back

The xbox controller should work I assume you have another controller with a slightly hanging stick or so which produces input so it will always switch away from the xbox controller (maybe I should change this and let ppl klick x or so the confirm a controller instead of hopping to any kind of controller giving input). It is an assumption, bc I had a tester with a flight simulator hw setup which experienced the same.

For the settings, I asume you did not define all, so it you can not save. Also an assumption. I would need log files to confirm all of my assumptions  (and thinking I should add something to the UI to make that easily accessible).

As soon I get access to my computer I’ll look into that.

I found some issues around the key-mapping setting and how I decide a controller active. I will fix it and upload a new version. I'm definitely not sure if it will fix your reported issues tho!

Very promising demo, full release will be great.

Thanks. The full release is planned for 2027 — ideally Q1, assuming I don’t end up crossing swords with a major release :)

We updated the game, the weapon pick is now manual. The annoying wall gluing is fixed. But still, the same difficulty, and we watched many struggling. We are still trying to find a way to teach the players to switch the guns for close-range and far-range targets.

Thanks again for playing and streaming our game :)
