Putting "advent" in "adventure"

โ„๏ธ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽโ„๏ธ

Santa's gone rogue! It is now up to Mrs. Claus to not only deliver all the gifts before Christmas but also return her rosy-cheeked husband to senses.

Heavily inspired by Slay the Spire, this roguelike deckbuilder will put your skills to the test as you not only expand your deck but also give out gifts after every battle.

Made in one week for a game dev competition (theme: "Christmas with a twist")

I had a blast playing your game! I ended up spending a few hours on it and really enjoyed every minute! ๐Ÿ˜„ The only thing I felt was missing was a little defeat animation for Granny when she gets beaten. Other than that, awesome game! Congrats, you did an amazing job! Keep it up!

Love it.  I agree with some of the comments by @Warjoy Heir regarding a few pain points, but really, it was playable and pretty solid.  I'd love to see it fleshed out!

Was very fun to beat! Nice job on the Christmas mood.^^

Cool re-theming of Slay The Spire. There are some nice mechanical additions/twists but the gameplay feels very much like StS. At this point it is a bit too familiar for me and I would not be interested in purchasing such game. That can sound harsh, but I think if you experiment a bit more, you have a project that could develop into something worthwhile to purse and find its niche.

Having all of the cards have the same icon was really difficult to navigate, but I guess it's just placeholder.

I had difficulty reading the enemy HP as often my cards covered the number.

I really enjoyed the mechanic of gift giving. It turns something that is rare and only for advanced users in normal deck builders - card removal - into a core mechanic that constantly creates meaningful decisions and evolves the deck. I think that is quite brilliant!

Good luck with the game!

Thanks for playing! The game isnโ€™t for sale, Iโ€™m making it for a game jam. Thereโ€™s a new update coming in a couple of days that introduces new gimmicks (deeper interactions with enemies, card upgrades, a new relic system, unique art for all cards), so you might want to check it out then.

very good game!

The Christmas theme was great

Mrs. Claus delivering gifts after every battle while dragging a rogue Santa home? Ha, that twist is cute. A whole Slay the Spire riff in one week is impressive.

I love a themed game like this. Great title too. Very easy to pick up and play during a meeting. Very polished too. Well done!

Looks cute! Dealt with a lot of flashing of the elements past the first combat. though

Super sweet. Wish there was "continue to endless", as my deck was perfect. But basically snowball and two snowbells allow infinite. But really liked it.

at the start was stressed because the rewraps werent visible and expected something hardcore but all the sleepless nights in slay were worth it.

10/10

A game where you get to Conquer the Chimney

Merry nice indeed

I like how you can remove one card each battle (it set your game apart from the obvious reference) which also make your average deck having higher synergy/power level

This name is so fucking funny

Played one run of the game. It's charming, but I would like for a bit more than just a STS reskin. Some enemies and cards are carbon copies from STS ones.

The few original cards are really unbalanced, as beeing able to remove cards makes it so that every night you can pick any present and then simply get rid of it, negating the impact. In these kinds of games, you want your deck to be as small as possible. Case and point, it is very easy to get to a loop where you simply have the 0 Cost - Draw 1 cart present and can simply cycle between 2 of them. Infinites are fun in these games, but they should not be THIS easy to achieve.

The OST is a bit lacking in the christmas theme. Sounds a bit generic. But overall, nice little game to play in this season.

THIS is super charming for this season!

Thank you so much!

How did you come up with that poetry?

(+2)

โ€œโ€˜Twas the night before Christmasโ€ is a famous opening, I simply went from there. My first draft was four or five verses, but it repeated information (โ€œSantaโ€™s heart darkenedโ€ -> โ€œHis heart went coal-blackโ€ in the very next line, stuff like that).

Iโ€™m not quite satisfied with the current version, but eh. It works well enough.

I Like this game so much!!!

nice, but the balance is a bit off. Getting rid of cards from your deck at each combat is hardly a challenge, rather it's something you normally don't have access to. Also, repeatable draw at 0 cost is easily abusable.

I love it. I'll definitely be doing a run for my YouTube channel in December.

This is really neat!  The Spirit mechanic adds an interesting tension.

This is such a cute twist on StS! I love the christmas spirit mechanic and leaving gifts as a way to keep changing the deck. Great game, hope it gets ascensions in the future.

oh hello famous youtuber

This was fun, and impressive for only a week of work! The spirit mechanic was a nice twist to the formula. Ended up winning on my first run, but then again I have a ton of experience with this genre.

Very glad you managed to finish the game! I didnโ€™t have much time to test it, so I myself only beat it once. Glad everything works, at least :D

Fantastic!
